Welcome, Greenlander welcomes you on the most adventurous Northern Lights chase in the Northern Norway. You will be guided by a pro photographer (see proof from our Instagram or Facebook page,) who will safely take you around the perimeter on a 4x4 modified Mercedes Benz minivan.
The tour consists hotel pickup, home made soup, hot drinks, tripods, thermal suit, boots, campfire(if conditions allow,) Aurora portraits and so much more.
Greenlander has a reputation of not giving up and therefore having one of the highest success rates in the business, around 95%-98% chance of catching the elusive Northern Lights. Please consider, the weather can be harsh and sometimes we have to chase for hours, before we can even see first stars. This tour might not suit for elder participants.

We went with Markus and he really did his best to give us the chance to find good spots for northern lights, and it paid off! We also got the opportunity to see unusual polar stratospheric clouds, and we had some delicious homemade soup and biscuits near a campfire!

Taking this experience blew my mind. Markus, our guide, went above and beyond to help us see the Green Lady. We went to four different spots, in line with the changing weather conditions and magnetic activity. Markus was extremely professional, highly knowledgeable and managed to create a nice dynamic in the group, making me feel at ease despite the fact that I took this experience on my own. Not only did we get to see different apparitions of the Northern Lights - faint and strong ones, green and pink ones - we also saw them dance. What a powerful moment! I particularly appreciated the warm clothes, the bonfire with the hot chocolate and the vegetarian soup as well as the pictures Markus took along the evening. I highly recommend this experience and will reach out, should I be in Tromsø again! Thank you!

I have to say a huge thank you you to Arbo, his dedication in the face of adversity.
The weather was against us yet Arbo and Markus researched the best viewing opportunity taking us to the highest peak of Finland. My daughters dream came true to see the lights. Even the avalanche on the way back and our delayed return is an extra story to tell. Tough going, but worth it.

Mesmerizing experience.
This was the last activity my friend and I did in Tromso. Having Arbo Rae as the guide was absolutely amazing; we made a few stops to reach the perfect spot to witness the mind-blowing phenomenon.
Arno was patient and funny, he looked for the most perfect place near the finish border to have a clear view of the sky since near it was a bit clouded near Tromso, we also had a nice diner and some snacks and hot drinks around the fire.
The pictures are just perfect.

Amazing tour. Our guide Markus is very passionate about northern lights, loves chasing and knows a lot about them. Already before the tour he was super helpful. At first we couldn’t get a spot on his tour because all the trips were already fully booked. Markus did his best to try to squeeze us in and as soon as a spot opened up, he let us know. Even on the day when we couldn’t go with him, he messaged us, while he was chasing, to let us know when there were strong auroras, so we could also check the sky for them.
The tour itself was great and really well organized. We made a camp, had some tea and ate homemade soup. And despite it being cloudy, we managed to get some great photos of the northers lights. Absolutely a great experience overall!

The tour guide Markus took us far away from the light pollution of Tromsø to witness the Aurora. He was quite friendly and set up reasonable expectations. We were able to capture the aurora thanks to his expertise. There was a short term fire camp set up and delicious homemade soup to be had. Definitely going to book this again the next time I'm in Tromsø!

It was amazing! Arbo, our guide, was great and he found us a secret place. Fantastic to see a big northern light.
The guide, Arbo, also made us a camp, with fire and hot soup. Just perfect !!

Arbo was great, he had a wide knowledge and covered all our questions.
He did his best to chase the lights (open sky), even in a not great night, from a conditions point of view.

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC.
Markus knowledge, experience and determination completely turned the odds in our favor and managed to find the best possible place for us to marvel at the aurora with a full view. (Check photo below made from a simple cheap phone).
You really don't need to look any further than this tour!

Is this suitable for joining with a child (5 years old)? If so, would February or April be a better choice taking into account the cold and chance of viewing the Northern lights? Thanks.

I would say it is kids-friendly. It does mot require any phisicall activity. But I’m not sure regarding the suits, if they have them for children. You should ask Greenlander for that.
As per the months, take into account that best time is October-March so make sure to go in between those months
I am 23 weeks pregnant, would this be suitable for me and my boyfriend ?

It is a long trip, pick up 6 pm and we were delivered back to our hotel at 1.30 a.m. Mini bus is very comfortable. We also did the daytime fjord trip with Markus. He is a GREAT host and very sensitive to people’s needs. He provides good drinks and snacks and the time on both trips went fast as Markus gives you lots of info and stories. I think you will be fine. Looking for the lights there was a bit of scrambling to get down to a beach - it must be different each trip though as he follows the Aurora. You are in a party of 7 though so don’t have control of time to end the evening. Hope this helps 😊. I loved it. Want to go again 🤗

We are first come to Tromos and lovey of Northern light, we would like to reserve early but some say that we should book on the same day we go out for tour because we should check the weather first, if the weather is bad, we shall book another date.
Therefore, I am confused that I shall book earlier/ book at the last moment?

Hi Calvin, usually when you book a tour, the tour guide ask you how long you are staying in Tromso, so in case that on that particular night there is no chance of seeing the Northern lights, they switch you to another one. They really try their best that you get a chance to see them! When are you planing to go? Which month? Warm regards, Jasmina
